Clubs

The largest club at Stratford STEM Magnet School Lower Campus is the Girls Who Code Club sponsored by Diane Chen, librarian. Girls from grades 6 through 12 can participate in virtual and face-to-face activities including UnRuly Splats, field trips, Code.org, MakeWonder, robotics, CodeKombat, Tinkercad 3D printing, web page design, and so much more.

Part of a national movement, Girls Who Code encourages girls to continue in STEAM throughout their lives and to pursue computer science. Email Ms Chen if you want to join or to volunteer to help.

Robotics and Boys Who Code are also supported at Stratford. The robotics is part of the STEAM course. Ms Chen sponsors boys who code in middle school at lunch. Last year the boys worked with Ms Pirtle-Jenkins to participate in the Minecraft Amusement Park Challenge.
